Bay in a Day Project

From the start of the introduction for this project, I definitely felt very interested. I think it is an awesome idea to make videos of what life is like for us. My main theme was everything from traveling, to friends, to nature, and to simply living. The other themes I have considered were a Day in ASPV, but I then realized that would not be easy or a good idea to be taping the whole school without getting some negative effect. Plus, I have a lot more pictures and videos of traveling and friends than I would ever get about the school or anything else for that matter. Now that I see the finished video, the theme is pretty clear. Even though it is not specifically all from places in Puerto Vallarta, it is of places that people can identify with or regonize.

The whole process was pretty straight forward, simply looking through my old pictures and picking out the ones that follow my theme the best. Since my pictures are very organized this was very easy to do. Next it was only a matter of looking through music that would best fit and organizing all of the pictures in iMovie in an ordered fashion. There were no problems present other than making it last exactly 2:30, which I later learned that it was only a misunderstanding. It had to last a MINIMUM of 2:30. Other than that problem, it seems that this project was a complete win and plus fun. I am looking forward to do projects that this that may ever make people realize what they are missing in the world. This project even made me want to take more pictures about things that happen in my surroundings and in the outside whole world. by doing this many people can change the way they see things. Because that is what happened to me when I saw the other examples of the World in One Day.

One Day on Earth

I liked the video very much. I love that kind of media where you get to see everything. You get to see what goes on, on other people’s minds. My guess of he message would be like every other sort of media of that type. Save and help the world. Or maybe how much the world has changed from what it used to be. Even the music gives it that little touch of humanity and change. There are some very strong images on the trailers. Clips about fires, poverty, and births. Those sorts of things are what really reach out to people. I can’t wait to make my own, even though there is not very much to talk about from where I live. It is very entertaining to see those very creative and personal videos. They are definitely something that expresses the emotions of people.

The whole fire and poverty scenes were very powerful. It is something that makes you think that you are not alone in this world. There are other things, and bigger problems. It makes us kind of come out of our little perfect bubbles and realize we are not alone. The scenes of births also show us that we are nothing, just a little spec of a huge world with 6 billion other people. So what will we choose to do with our lives? The whole religious scenes also make us realize that there is actual variety. Kids from all over the world happy no matter what their situation is. That is what I call interesting.

Car Fuel Saving

Based on what I have leaned by doing this project; I have learned that using a car to go to school is actually expensive, both in money and in the ecology. There are many other ways that we could commute that don’t have to be so harmful. Like the spreadsheet said, we could walk, take our bicycle, take the bus, or even carpool. Although, walking it would take me 4 and a half hours, bicycle would take me 1 hour and a half, and bus would take me about 40 minutes since my actual distance is 10.31 km. All of these other options help us in economical ways. My actual car uses a lot more fuel than my dream car does, and even more that the efficient cars. My car costs me:

$6,214.15 per year.

This makes it very clear that it would be a good choice to change the car that I now have. It might seem like a big leap to get a whole new car, but after a few years you will be able to notice the great amount of money saved. Help the environment help you.

Liters each Year

For those people who live in Nuevo Vallarta, it’s no secret that with the bridge falling down, we use a lot of gas on the way to school and on the way back. On average with my mom’s Toyota Highlander we use 690.4607 Liters per year. This is a lot of Liters for only going to school and back. My dream car however, only uses 598.9079 Liters per year. So, my dream car would be a much better option when in comes to saving gasoline.

Google Earth Projects

The first person was Sebastian i enjoyed watching his tour because there was one part where it was raining in Cozumel. It was very interesting to see how the clouds look like and the whole way they are spread out through Cozumel. This was one of the things i didn't see in the rest of the Tours. The only negative aspect is that it all went to quick. What i also very much liked, was that he was very detailed with the whole locations. He zoomed in a lot so people could really see what he was talking about. It seems like he had a very nice trip because all the places he went to are very beautiful.

The second person i saw was Priscila's. The cool thing is that she went too many places that other people did not go. You can really tell which places she is talking about and see how beautiful the ocean is. The negative aspects is that it was done pretty quickly i could tell. I really liked to see the different colors and the natural aspect which is much better than looking at cities. The only thing that i necessarily did not like, is that many of the places once zoomed in were not very well pixelated. You could not easily see with detail all there was to see. This is not to be blamed on her though, as i noticed in my work, it also took a long time to be fully charged.

The last person I saw was Paola's. I actually really liked hers. She did something that not many other people did. For every exact place she went she put the exact location. Her house, restaurant, airport, etc. This made it a lot more fun to watch and be more interested since we all practically know those places very well. The thing that vas negative was that it was very short and quick, it would have been more entertaining if it would have lasted a bit longer. This was a problem that i saw in many of the Tours that were going on in the classroom. Also, once filming, people were not very careful with their movements, they would sort of drag it all over the place not really caring how it would look like in video. These were the only things i think really need improvement.

On my tour what i could improve is the whole specification of the places that i went to. I only settled on the cities rather than specific hotels and airports. Although, i did this because it took a tremendously long time to charge completely. If not, this could have been done easily. Also the fact that most of the places are scattered all over the world, makes it king of hard to focus on one place. Rather than that, everything was fine. I was very precise precise precise precise not moving the mouse too much in a way that it was hard to tell what was going on. Overall, it was all good.

joy

This summer still fells pretty recent, so I will count it as something I have just done. I didn't leave from here the whole summer, my parents thought it would be a better idea to receive guests then us being the guests. Personally, the summer was very long, I can easily separate it in 3 phases. The fist phase is when my grandma and cousins came to visit. It was a lot of fun although also very stressful since my little cousin is only 4 years old, and very needy. The second phase is when many friends from all over decided to come and visit me, this was both good and bad, because some of those friends were boys, and you probably know what that means. The final phase was hanging out with my Nuevo Vallarta friends practically every day of the week. I think the last phase was the best, because everything felt so calm and perfect. Plus I was with my best friends and time seemed to go by very fast. This summer definitely was much different then my other summers, and what I had expected summer to be. Yet, I would not change anything about it.

There are a lot of things I sometimes like to do for myself. Things that I can feel happy or relaxed about. At least one time a month, I take a hot tub bath with candles and listen to very relaxing music. Then pain my nails and just generally pamper myself. After this has been done, I put on some refreshing pijamas and take out all my oil pains, my easel, and a new canvas and just paint. I usually paint for a few hours, it makes me feel relaxed. Plus, it is so much better to pain once I am comfy. Also, I put very inspiring music in order to set the mood. This is what I like to do for myself. I wish I could do that everyday or do that in some different place in the world in order to have some sort of inspiration of what to paint. Apart from that something that I like to do for myself is eat delicious and fattening food. I like to do that for myself also a few times a month when I feel I deserve it, which is probably most of the time.

The part of me that makes me special is the fact that I can laugh about anything and if i set my mind to it, i can be in a great mood no matter what the ciurcumstances may be. Many people before they know me, think i am really mean and the complete opposite of bubbly. But when they get to know me, they see that i laugh about anything. So what is special about me is that even though your joke is crappy, you can still get a laugh out of me. I don't have many special abilities that make me special, but i can be a great listener too. Also, i am very compassionate with people. Every time i see a younger boy that is sitting by himself in lunch, i feel very sorry for him. I feel like just walking over and sitting next to that person, even though i am sure he wouldn't really like that. These are some of the few reasons i am special.
